High purity boron trifluoride cylinders
We manufacture high purity boron trifluoride and its compounds as catalysts to promote chemical reactions called "polymerization" which are required when manufacturing a range of chemicals and pharmaceutical intermediates.
In 1963, Stella Chemifa was the first company to produce boron trifluoride gas for industrial use in Japan.
Currently, we are the only company in Japan manufacturing boron trifluoride gas. Taking advantage of this exclusivity, we supply a broad variety of products to chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturers both in Japan and overseas.

enriched boron (Izumi Factory)
We were the first in Japan to establish mass production technology for enriched boron (boron-10).
Natural boron is made up of two isotopes, boron-10 and boron-11, 20% boron-10 and 80% boron-11. We developed technology to enrich boron-10 to over 95%.
Boron-10 has an extremely high capacity to absorb neutrons, and further enriching it can increase its ability to absorb neutrons. Exploiting its ability to absorb neutrons, we use it in storage containers for spent nuclear fuel and neutron control rod for pressurized-water reactors and raw materials for neutron shielding materials, and similar products.
In addition, our Medical Business is involved in developing drugs for treating cancer, utilizing our boron-10 enrichment technology.

GMP-compliant products (Izumi Factory)
GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is a standard for manufacturing control and quality control of chemical agents and quasi-chemical agents. It is based on the principles of "reducing human errors to the lowest level," "preventing contamination and product quality loss" and "designing systems to assure high product quality."
Previously, we had been manufacturing and selling tin fluoride, a raw material for toothpaste. In anticipation of market expansion, in 2015 we completed measures to comply with GMP and we became the first manufacturer in Japan producing tin fluoride as the raw material for toothpaste.
We are seriously considering expanding into sodium fluoride which will be used as an additive for toothpaste in the future.
